Record calls to your Drive
A Chrome extension that records Meet, Zoom, Teams or any tab from your own browser, so no bot joins the call. The audio and the transcript go to the right folder in your Google Drive.
How Callbox handles your dataNo bot joins the call
Most call recorders send a bot to join your call. Callbox does not: the Chrome extension records the tab of the call, the other participants and your microphone.
| A meeting bot | Callbox |
|---|---|
| A notetaker joins the call, and everyone sees it in the list of participants. | Nothing joins the call. Callbox records it from your own Chrome tab. |
| The host has to let the bot in, or allow recording. | You need no permission from the host. It also works in calls that other people host. |
| Many companies block meeting bots, or an admin has to approve the app. | There is no app for an admin to install in Zoom, Teams or Google Workspace. |
How it works
Record a call in one click
When you join a call in Meet, Zoom or Teams, the Callbox Chrome extension asks "Record this call?". It records the other participants and your microphone, in any tab, and the video too if you want it. If the network drops or the browser closes, the audio is kept on your computer and uploaded later.
It lands in the right project
Projects are usually clients. Add their email addresses or domains, and with your Google Calendar connected Callbox puts each Meet call in the project of the people invited to it. Or pick the project in the extension. Anything else goes to the Inbox.
The audio is in your Google Drive
Each recording is a file in Callbox/<project>/ in your own Drive (a team’s recordings in the team owner’s Drive), with an optional transcript as a Google Doc next to it.
Read and search every call
Every call gets a page: who was in it, the audio, and a transcript that follows the player. Transcribe all calls automatically or only when you ask, with the engine you choose.
- Transcripts you can read
- Set like a document, with the time on every line and, in Meet and Teams calls, the name of who spoke when the call shows it. Click a line to hear it.
- Bookmarks for the moments that matter
- Bookmark a moment while you record. It stands out in the transcript and the player, and [ and ] jump between bookmarks.
- Search every call
- Press ⌘K and find what was said, in any call. A hit opens the call at that second.
- An Inbox for the rest
- Recordings with no project wait in the Inbox. Move them to a project with one key, and teach Callbox the rule for next time.
- Share with your team
- Create a team and invite people by their Google address. Everyone in it sees the calls filed in its projects, with who recorded each one.
Your AI agent can use it too
Your agent can work with your calls for you: find calls, read transcripts, move them into projects and write notes.
- Ask about any call in Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or your own bot, through Callbox’s MCP server.
- You choose what it may do: read, organize, delete. Disconnect it in Settings at any time.
- Webhooks tell it when a call is transcribed, so it can write the summary before you ask.
Your data stays yours
Callbox does not tell the other participants that a call is recorded, unless you turn on its notice in the Meet chat. Getting their consent is your responsibility.
Read the privacy policy- Only its own Drive files
- Callbox can only see the Drive files it creates. Your other files stay out of reach.
- Calendar is optional
- It asks for read access to your calendar only if you turn on automatic routing.
- Nothing lost offline
- The extension keeps every 10-second chunk on your computer until the upload succeeds.
- Leave any time
- Delete your account in Settings at any time; the recordings in your Drive stay with you.

Frequently asked questions
- Does a bot join my calls?
- No. Callbox records the call from your own Chrome tab, so no extra participant joins the call. You do not need the permission of the host, and an admin does not have to install anything.
- What is Callbox?
- Callbox is a call and meeting recorder that saves every recording to your own Google Drive. A Chrome extension records your calls in Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or any browser tab, the web app records meetings in the room from your browser or phone, and you can import audio files. Each recording can be transcribed.
- Which call apps can Callbox record?
- Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams in Chrome, and any other call in a browser tab. The extension records the other participants and your microphone, and the video too if you want it.
- Where are my recordings stored?
- In your own Google Drive, in a Callbox folder with one folder per project, with an optional transcript as a Google Doc next to each file. Callbox keeps a recording on its servers only while it delivers it to your Drive, and in some cases for a limited time after.
- Can Callbox see my other Google Drive files?
- No. Callbox can only see the Drive files it creates. It asks for read access to your Google Calendar only if you turn on automatic routing of calls to projects.
- Does Callbox tell the other participants that the call is recorded?
- No, unless you turn on its notice in the Meet chat. Getting the consent of the people you record is your responsibility.
- Can my AI agent use Callbox?
- Yes. Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or your own agent can find calls, read transcripts, move recordings into projects and write notes through Callbox’s MCP server, with the permissions you give it. Webhooks tell it when a call is transcribed.
Never take call notes by hand again
Continue with Google, then record a meeting in your browser, add the extension for online calls, or import an audio file. Every recording is in your Drive.
